To display updated vehicle information such as tank capacity, range or mileage in the BMW Connected App, your vehicle requires the active BMW ConnectedDrive Service "Remote Service". Transmission to the BMW Connected App is optimised for vehicles with a BMW iDrive main menu in the form of tiles. At the end of the journey, your vehicle transmits the information via the mobile network and the BMW ConnectedDrive Server. If the mobile phone connection is inadequate, the transmission is delayed. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant supports the driver in a BMW as a learning language assistant. It uses machine learning to learn from the user's requests and to improve the quality of his answers. In this way, the voice assistant helps to operate the vehicle with voice commands, voice searches and voice control. Voice control and machine learning With the aid of artificial intelligence, the BMW Language Assistant recognises and stores the driver's entries such as frequently used navigation destinations or telephone partners. Linked to the BMW ConnectedDrive customer profile, the BMW Language Assistant stores and personalises the user's behaviour. The voice command "Hey BMW" serves as the activation word for voice input for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. In contrast to other language assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Siri, the user can personalise this voice command with a freely selectable name. BMW ConnectedDrive Live Cockpit Professional required The customer requires the option BMW Live Cockpit Professional ConnectedDrive as the technical prerequisite for using the voice control of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. A personal consultant answers your call around the clock, 365 days a year. The "Concierge Service" can be used only in the vehicle. To start a request, select: CONNECTEDDRIVE/CONCIERGE SERVICE. A voice connection to the BMW call centre is established and you are connected to an agent within a few seconds. BMW ConnectedDrive customers may use the information service free of charge. There are no connection costs for you.

The BMW Experience Modes change the atmosphere in the interior through three preconfigured modes (Executive, Expressive and Wellbeing). You will see a list of the available remote functions in the BMW Connected App under "Vehicle" and "Info" and in the BMW ConnectedDrive customer portal under "Remote Cockpit" and "Control". Depending on the vehicle, you can currently operate ten services via BMW Remote Services: Locate vehicle, horn, lights, lock/unlock doors, air conditioning, now air conditioning, loading, last journey, Remote 3D View. Newer vehicles (2014 and beyond) are compatible with the greatest number of app features. However, some features are model-specific and won't be visible to all users (e.g., charging stats for electric vehicles). Therefore, your experience with the app may differ from one vehicle to another. An active BMW ConnectedDrive subscription is required in order to use most app features. No. BMW has no influence on what third parties do with the telematics data. Should BMW discover that the telematics data is being used for a purpose other than that authorised by you, this would contradict the BMW CarData GTCs for third parties/ service providers. In this case, BMW reserves the right to block BMW CarData Services for the third party/ service provider.

BMW CarData notifications via email and SMS are purposely only sent between 08:00 and 22:00. In contrast, BMW Info notifications are sent directly to the vehicle without a time delay.
